Ashlyn Harris praised her girlfriend Sophia Bush after the actor came out as gay.
The 38-year-old former football star took to your Instagram Stories on Friday to share a photo of Bush Glam history, in which the Hill of a tree the star opened up about his sexuality and officially confirmed that he was dating Harris.
In the caption of her Instagram Story, Harris applauded her partner's article for Glamwriting: “Proud of you darling.”
For GlamIn the April cover story, published on April 25, Bush spoke about his relationship with Harris for the first time. In August, the actress officially filed for divorce from husband Grant Hughes, while the following month the football player filed for divorce from Ali Krieger, with whom she shares two adopted children. After announcing their separations, media outlets reported in October that Harris and Bush were seeing each other.

The actress then explained how much time and effort it took to accept her feelings and eventually start a relationship with Harris. However, she acknowledged that as their romance began, inaccurate rumors began to surface, including claims that she and Harris began dating while they were still with their respective spouses.
“A lot of effort has been made to be kind to other people's processing, to their time and obligations, and to their feelings. What seemed like seconds after I started seeing what was in front of me, the online rumor mill started spitting in the most horrific ways,” Bush clarified to Glam. “There were blatant lies. Violent threats. There were accusations of being a home wrecker. Those who said I left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women – my partners have known what I like as long as I have (so it's not that guys, sorry!). ”
Following reports in October that Bush and Harris were dating, Harris did not hesitate to respond to allegations that she cheated on Kriger. In a post shared to her Instagram in November, Harris not only shut down the cheating rumors, but also revealed how the constant “online hate” has negatively impacted her mental health.
“Several weeks ago, a process that had been ongoing privately for some time became public,” she wrote. “Ending a relationship after nearly 13 years of friendship, team bonding, marriage and co-parenting (many of them good years) is a decision that was not made lightly.”
The former goalkeeper specified that while the “false narratives” surrounding her marriage may be “more interesting or make a better headline,” the rumors that she cheated on Krieger “are simply not true.”
“Let me be clear: I have not given up on my marriage. I have always been faithful in my marriage, although not always completely happy. As with many partnerships, there was work, therapy, and processing. None of this happened on a whim,” Harris explained at the time.
In his cover story for Glam, Bush opened up about her sexuality and revealed that she now identifies as queer. “I kind of hate the idea of having to to go out in 2024,” she wrote. “I think I've always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum. At the moment I think the word that best defines this is queer. I can't say that without smiling, actually. And this is very good.”

She continued: “Falling in love with her stitched up some of my childhood wounds and made me much closer to my own mother. Seeing Ashlyn choose to not simply survive, but thrive, for her babies was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen a friend do. And now I can love her. How lucky am I?
