'Bad Miyan Chote Miyan', starring Akshay Kumar It is Shroff Tiger, was one of the most expensive films released this year, with a reportedly huge budget of Rs 350 crore. On the day of its release, it only collected around Rs 36.33 crore at the global box office. Additionally, it debuted to scathing reviews and received a mixed reaction from the crowd. Her performance was eventually declared dismal.Alaya Fwho played an Oxford University researcher, an armed forces secret agent and a coding expert in the film, spoke about it for the first time.
During an interview with News18 Showsha, she discussed how she always knew a commercial potboiler wouldn't win over critics. She shared, “It didn't bother me because I feel like I got a lot out of the movie. I was able to reach a new audience that might not have known me. When you are making a film of this scale and an action masala, the reviews will not just be critical acclaim.”
She also doesn't seem to be partly because she understands that the public and their decisions can never be controlled. She further stated that the main criticism for a film like this will always come from the audience.
Alaya acknowledges that her character Pam was subjected to conflicting viewpoints. She stated that there were two perspectives on her character. People either thought she was the most charming character ever or they thought she was the most annoying character to ever appear in an action film.
She further added, “I chose to play the character in a certain way. I was well aware of the fact that she would not please everyone. Sometimes certain scenes after editing end up looking different on screen and that's out of my control. I gave my heart and did what I thought was best.”
The 26-year-old says she prefers to see the good in things instead of thinking about the negative. She said: “I was very happy to have received visibility. Let people send me some hate and get angry (laughs). This also works. And either way, the fact remains that every film has its own journey and destiny.”
On the work front, Alaya F will next be seen in the film 'Srikanth' alongside Rajkummar Rao.
