Zack Snyder revealed which character connects Rebel Moon for Army of the Dead. The previous title is Zack Snyder's space opera film series, which began with Part One: A Child of Fire on Netflix in 2023 and aims to launch a sprawling multimedia franchise that includes prequels, graphic novels, a narrative podcast, multiple sequels, and more. The latest title is Snyder's previous Netflix franchise, a post-apocalyptic zombie universe that already includes a film, a prequel, a scrapped animated spin-off and a possible sequel. The filmmaker had already suggested that both franchises could exist in the same universe.

Snyder spoke with ComicBook.com when promoting the recent Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver release. During the conversation, he revealed that there is a secondary character in A child of fire that bridges the gap between franchises. The character is a Xanadi girl who appears briefly in a bar which several of the main characters visit, while Snyder explains that his home planet of Xanadu – named after the Olivia Newton-John film – is “where does the zombie plague come from.” He reveals that the character comes “straight from the Army animated series.” Read his full explanation below:

Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead can definitely exist in the same universe. I think I've already said this, but there's a character in film one, when they walk in — I don't know if I've ever talked about this — when they walk into the bar and there's a Xanadite, the Army animated series that we never finished. Where they go, where the zombie plague comes from, is a planet they call Xanadu — well, the scientists call it Xanadu because they're big fans of Olivia Newton-John — so they go to Xanadu and the Xanadites, basically where the zombies that the plague comes from, she is one of them. So there's an interdimensional thing that they go through, so there's a chance of some weird mashup.
