Nigerian rave musician, Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name, Rema, has caused a stir on the Internet with his latest post.

The 'Calm Down' singer declared that there are no more 'The Big Three' artists in the Nigerian music industry because there are now four.

Rema stated this on his official Twitter page on Saturday without going into detail and it sparked a debate as to who the four are he is talking about.

It is widely believed that the industry is dominated by Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and sometimes Olamide. There is always a debate about who occupies the third position, as Wiz and OBO have already taken the top two spots.

Some social media users guessed that the 23-year-old artiste may have included himself to reach the top, thus eliminating Wizkid, Burna, Davido or Olamide.

Rema tweeted; “No more Big 3, now there is a Big 4.”

In another set of posts, he wrote; “Record labels get creative, stop trying to clone me… Tell your stylists to stop emailing brands with my name to get clothes, I'll show up to your show and strip you naked on stage because that's my shit, HOE ! fake celebrities, fake industry????”

Nigerian Twitter influencer, Daniel Regha, earlier said that Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu aa Burna Boy, should not be put in the same category with Olamide, Wizkid and Davido.

The social commentator said that Burna is still a rising star when compared to the three aforementioned artists.

Regha made the statement while performing on Doyin's Corner hosted by Big Brother Naija star, Doyin David, noting that when OBO, Baddo and Machala were the hottest artistes on the scene, Burna was nowhere to be found.

He further said that Olamide has more hits than most of them which is why he finds it funny when people mention Burna's name before YBNL founder.

Daniel Regha said there is a set for every musician in the industry and there are people who started rocking around the same time as 'Odogwu', but it turns out he was more successful.

The popular Twitter user further explained that in the same way that one would not put Tubaba in the same list with Wizkid and Davido, it is also like the Last Last singer is not in the same set as them.

Talking about how big Burna is, Regha accredited him for the streaming era, saying that if the popular singers of the past had emerged now that streaming platforms exist, most of their songs would be hits.

He said; “Burna is still a novelty compared to Wizkid, Davido and Olamide. When these artists were breaking out, Burna was nowhere to be seen… Burna is breaking out especially now because he is in the streaming era.”
