Star of friends, Christina Applegate has revealed that a recent infection caused by a salad left her wearing diapers.

Christina, 52, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in recent years, revealed her health took another blow when she was forced to go to the toilet after eating takeaway food.

The star, who is beloved for playing Rachel's self-centered sister Amy in two episodes in 2002 and 2003 and even won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for that role, explained that she was “so sick” after consuming accidentally 'fecal'. matter.'

In his most recent episode of Messy Podcastwhich she co-hosts with fellow actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, the star admitted she was 'annoyed' [her] ass for a few days.

'I was so dizzy, I was so sick. I couldn't eat. I didn't achieve anything. And finally I had to make one of those samples – [a stool test], which is funny, and this is sarcasm, as we know – because you poop in a container and then you have to put your own poop in jars. And it was so disgusting that I started vomiting while doing it.

'Anyway, it's back [and] I had something called sapovirus. This is when you ingest someone else's fecal matter through your food. Someone else's poop went into my mouth and I ate it.

Sapovirus is a virus that typically spreads when food or water is contaminated with feces and ingested by an individual. Symptoms often include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal cramps, chills and headaches.

The Dead To Me star said she was able to discover that he may have been hired from a restaurant where she has been eating for 15 years.

“We kind of traced it back to the takeout salad.” She added: 'I bought a salad and I think they say it's mostly salad because the cooked food kind of kills the bacteria. We're tracking it there.

Explaining why this led to her wearing 'nappies', the Anchorman star recalled a horrific incident that meant she could no longer avoid diapers.

'I'm going to be disgusting. I woke up at 3am in a puddle of shit. I didn't know this happened, and having multiple sclerosis at 3 am and trying to change your sheets is no fun.

She then added, “That brings me to my next point: I'm wearing diapers.”

The actress explained that protective adult diapers are not “affordable” and she and her co-host, who also suffers from multiple sclerosis, agreed that adult diapers should be less floral and twee for women.

'By putting on an adult diaper, you won't feel sexy,'” Jamie-Lynn said. “It's something you have to use because your body is malfunctioning.”

Jamie-Lynn then added that she and Christina would prefer something that reflected their mood a little more while wearing the diaper.

“I think it would be really nice if you could give me an adult diaper that fully supports my mood when I look at it, which would look something like the words 'F**k me' on my pelvis.”

What is multiple sclerosis?

According to the NHS, MS is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, affecting balance and vision.

It is a lifelong condition that affects people differently, ranging from mild symptoms to severe disability, and can be progressive.

Symptoms include:

  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty walking
  • Vision problems
  • Numbness and tingling, muscle stiffness and spasms
  • Balance and coordination problems
  • Problems thinking, learning and planning

The Bad Moms star has continued to use podcasts to keep fans updated on her multiple sclerosis journey. In March she revealed that she was around 30 lesions on his brain and one that presses painfully on his eye.

The Hollywood icon also revealed earlier this month that he hadn't been able to shower for weeks after a relapse in “really bad” health.

She was open about other symptoms and talked about being supported by other MS sufferers such as Selma Blair.

The podcast description for this recent episode revealed that “parts of this episode were recorded in 2023.”

It is unclear whether Christina's illness was recent or whether it occurred several months ago.

A new episode of the MeSsy podcast is released every Tuesday.
