MANILA, Philippines – Sisi Rondina praised Farm Fresh rising star Trisha Tubu after her career-high 32 points pushed Choco Mucho to its limits in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Tubu restarted his career best with 30 spikes and two blocks, but Farm Fresh could not complete his defeat against the mighty Choco Mucho after absorbing a 25-15, 24-26, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12 defeat on Tuesday night at Philsports Arena.

Rondina, who saved the day for Choco Mucho with 29 points, had nothing but praise for Tubu after giving the Flying Titans a tough challenge before heading into the semi-final with defending champions Creamline, Petro Gazz and Chery Tiggo.

“We are both great flyers. She jumps very high, so I can't get a good read,” said Rondina after exchanging violent blows with Tubu. “She is very competitive and we have the same mentality that we don’t want our teammates to have a difficult time. I hope her career reaches its peak because she is very promising in her position.”

Tubu, who surpassed her previous professional record of 30 points last year, was honored to be praised by the reigning All-Filipino MVP, whose words will inspire her to play even better in the upcoming conference.

“It’s a good feeling to hear these words coming from someone like Sisi Rondina,” said the second-year professional winger. “I’m grateful that I was able to perform well against Choco Mucho and that our team was able to put on a good game.”

“I'm happy to also achieve a career high and finish this conference on a high note even though we lost. We did our best and gave it our all and that’s what our coaches and Tito Frank (Lao) want from us.”

Tubu, who turned pro after a season in the UAAP with Adamson last year, is pleased with his progress under coach Jerry Yee and Japanese coaches as Farm Fresh had its best performance yet with three wins from 11 games, surpassing their two wins last December. .

“We will work on our stability for the next conference. We want to play well, not just against strong opponents. We want to go all out against all opponents,” she said.
