Already out of contention for the Premier Volleyball League semifinals, Farm Fresh is looking to perform better under a new system that has been slowly getting the hang of it throughout the All-Philippine Conference.

“We have learned more about our ability to adjust and the need to embrace the roles we have been assigned, even in a short period of time,” Caitlin Viray said in Filipino after the Foxies buried the Strong Group in a deeper hole with 25- 10, 25 -15, 25-22 defeat on Thursday.

Instituted by the Japanese addition to its technical team at this conference, the new system has thrust Farm Fresh on a rollercoaster ride.

To open their campaign, Farm Fresh showed their potential after beating defending champions Creamline, who are fighting a highly successful finals rematch with Choco Mucho to date.

Then came the biggest highlight for the Foxies, who were very active in their recruiting during the offseason: a straight-set upset of Chery Tiggo.

But then things went downhill from there as Farm Fresh suffered five straight losses.

“The team is in the process of maturing as we have a new system, but the good thing is that we are slowly adapting to this new style,” said Farm Fresh ace Trisha Tubu.

“We know adapting this will help the team’s rise in future conferences,” she added after helping the Foxies to their third win in 10 games – the franchise’s most wins since joining the league in the Conference Invitational last year. .

Viray was one of the key additions to Farm Fresh, which highlighted the former University of Santo Tomas standout of the Flying Titans.

The young team has been experimenting with its rotations throughout the conference, where Viray, who had 11 points despite playing off the bench in just two sets in the win over the Atlético, has seen longer minutes despite also being an opposite forward as Tubu.

“We agree that whoever is called among us, we must always be ready and support each other,” Viray said. “We have no problems sharing playing time, the important thing is that we are ready when the coach calls any of us.

“I still have a lot to work on, as I still have a lot of lapses. But the good thing about the team is that we are very eager and open to learn,” he added.

Farm Fresh, however, will have a tough matchup facing Viray's former team to close out the ongoing conference.

“Grateful to get the victory after consecutive defeats in the last few games. This will be a good motivation for our last game against Choco Mucho”, said Tubu.

“Everyone is excited to face Choco Mucho,” Viray added. “I think we continue to work in training to give them a good fight.”
