Although Palmeiras has already agreed to purchase left-back Caio Paulista, Palmeiras is not expected to make an announcement before December 31. The situation comes as the player is still linked with São Paulo, on loan from Fluminense. Only at the turn of the year will he return to the role of a Tricolor Carioca player and the transaction can be finalized. In the meantime, the management boards are exchanging the final documents aimed at signing the agreement.
Palmeiras will buy Caio Paulista from Fluminense for R$18.3 million. Club São Paulo, where the full-back played until the beginning of the month, indicated that they would exercise the option to purchase the player, but did not do so. Thus, the Verdão management rushed and offered more than Tricolor intended. Thanks to this, he finally took the lead in the negotiations and reached an agreement regarding the left-handed player.
In any case, it's only a matter of time before Caio Paulista puts on the Palmeiras shirt for good. The 25-year-old will join Allianz Parque after 50 games for Tricolor Paulista, in which he scored five goals. He made only one appearance for Fluminense at the beginning of the year, before being loaned out. During his career, he also defended Ceará and Avaí.
