MANILA, Philippines — Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Cacdac pledged to continue adhering to a rights-based approach to ensuring the protection of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), as a tribute to his predecessor and friend, the late Secretary Susan Ople, “whose passion, vision, work ethic and leadership will continue to be a beacon for our department.”

In a statement released on Friday, Cacdac said its plans include proactively participating in regional and multilateral talks – in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Labor and Employment – to further promote the rights, protection and the development of Filipino migrant workers. —JANE DE BAUT
