MANILA, Philippines – The Daegu Kogas Pegasus will continue to have Filipino blood in its lineup for two more years.

On Friday, Pegasus announced via Instagram post that the Filipino import has seen SJ Belangel sign a two-year contract extension with the Korean Basketball League (KBL) team.

Belangel, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to the Korean club for bringing him back for another two years.

“Thank you very much Daegu Kogas Pegasus for your trust and two more seasons playing for the team,” the Ateneo product wrote.

“Last season was full of learning and accomplishments on and off the court and I can truly say that I grew a lot, not only by mastering my craft as an athlete, but also by being a better and more disciplined individual.”

Currently, Belangel plays a crucial role for Daegu with averages of 12.6 points, 3.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and almost a steal (0.9) per game.

In Daegu's most recent match, Pegasus faltered to Wonju DB Promy 82-73, with another Filipino shining after the match.

Belangel finished with six points and eight assists.

On the other side, however, Ethan Alvano, who was the first non-Korean to win the league's domestic MVP, scored 18 points and three assists.
