Fitness guru Joe Wicks shared a short family video featuring his five-year-old daughter Indigo expertly cooking a steak to perfection.

However, the 38-year-old TV personality quickly became embroiled in controversy when concerns arose over the knife wielded by the little one.

Just a few weeks ago, Joe was embroiled in another controversy when he had to issue an apology for appearing to suggest the belief that “ADHD is caused by ultra-processed foods.”

Now, fans are worried that their children might use an “unnecessary” Japanese chef's knife, which was quite large and clearly very sharp.

Indigo proudly cooked and then cut a thick, 'perfect' steak, with her little sister, four-year-old Marley, right by her side.

'Then you carefully cut it into slices with a sharp knife,' said the young man as Joe replied, 'That's a very sharp Japanese knife.'

Allowing your daughter to use such a large and sharp knife caused some arguments from parents in their comments, as people weighed in on safety issues.

'I'm a big Joe fan, but… bizarrely no one mentioned the knife?' commented Jane Dent. 'Completely unnecessary for a child to use this with another even younger child next to them. Accident waiting to happen, unfortunately.

She immediately received defensive comments stating that Joe was supervising and teaching kitchen safety to the little ones while they were young.

'More dangerous not to be smart, she's well supervised 🙄', replied Mandie Oldridge.

Joan East added: 'I disagree, teach them to use a knife, even a large one, when they are young, under parental supervision, and they will be less likely to cause serious injury to themselves.'

“I imagine you weren’t present for all the conversations they had about the dangers in the kitchen,” Sue Simmonds shared. 'I've seen a lot of videos where he told them to watch the knife/pan/heating, etc.'

Both Joe and his wife Rosie, who is pregnant with baby number four, can be seen looking in the reflection of the cupboards.

Throughout the video, the Body Coach encourages his daughter, praising her cooking and stating that she 'got' the perfect rare steak.

At the end of the tutorial, Indigo's hand can be seen hovering slightly as she looks for a safe place to place the huge knife.

She places it on the edge of the cutting board before taking a slice to taste, while Marley gives her a thumbs up.

In another clip, the knife was moved as the pair shouted '10 out of 10', with a 'wooo' from Joe behind the camera.

Just like Indigo and Marley, the couple shares Daughter Leni, 19 months old, and expecting another baby later this year.
