A complication of measles is suspected to have killed at least 19 children in Mubi North Local Government Area of ​​Adamawa State.

Health Commissioner Felix Tangwami said in Mubi on Saturday that more than 200 children in the LGA were already infected.

Tangwami said the outbreak was reported in Yola on Saturday, prompting a rapid deployment of doctors and medicines to affected communities.

He assured that children with serious infections would be sent to hospitals.
