The Call to Repentance recently left fans confused after she claimed she was part of SS Rajamouli's'Baahubali'. However, what she was talking about was the series'Baahubali: Before the Beginning', which should be the prequel of the magnum opus.
In an interview with Filmy Gyan, Wamiqa said that he was training for 'Baahubali', but the project never took off. According to her, directors changed constantly. And she was still there training sword fighting. She added that she kept asking if the director had been finalized. However, the manufacturers ended up shutting down the project. Wamiqa concluded by saying that she hopes it restarts again.

The actor played a role in the Netflix project titled 'Baahubali: Before the Beginning', an adaptation based on the novels 'The Rise of Shivagami,' 'Chaturanga' and 'Queen of Mahishmathi'. This series was intended to serve as a prequel to 'Baahubali', with the main focus on the character Sivagami, played by Ramya Krishnan.

Initially, Mrunal Thakur was cast in a role that eventually went to Wamiqa. Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru were set to direct the project in 2018. However, in 2021, Netflix reportedly decided to scrap the version that had been filmed and expressed plans to renew it in the future. Kunal Deshmukh was signed on as director but later dropped out of the project.
