Who said salads have to be leafy and green?

A viral TikTok trend took over the internet when users created a “salad” made entirely out of candy.

The sweet snack has become fashionable and some users are giving their mix a theme – in this case, Valentine's Day.

Jillian Pickard, a content creator and homemaker living in Massachusetts, created the ultimate Valentine's Day candy salad with 20 different candies used in her mix.

“I had seen a few other creators doing candy salad-type videos, and I hadn't seen anyone doing any Valentine's Day videos yet,” Pickard told Fox News Digital.

After visiting a variety of stores, Pickard saw the “endlessness of Valentine's Day sweets” and thought she'd try the sweet salad.

She decided to stick with fruity flavors and not add chocolate to the mix.

Pickard spent about $40 to $50 on the candy, taking advantage of discounts available in stores, she noted.

After emptying all the candy bags into a large bowl, Pickard tossed in the candy salad to mix everything up.

She kept things festive with a heart-shaped spatula that helped her mix the sweets.

The salad offers a little bit of everything – from Starburst Conversation Hearts to heart-shaped Blow Pop Minis.

Pickard was surprised to discover that her favorite was the Nerds Gummy Clusters Valentine, saying, “Those It will definitely appear in another candy salad.”

To prevent the festive mix from becoming stale, she chose to put everything in an airtight container, so the treat can be enjoyed all season long.

Pickard managed to fill four containers with her giant candy concoction, so she kept one for herself and shared the rest with friends, she said.

What makes the sweet salad so fun is that creators can customize the mix to their liking.

People can make a mix of some of their favorite candies or be specific and make a mix made entirely of one color.

“My toxic trait is that I could ONLY eat a candy salad with a complementary color scheme,” one user commented. “Pastels. Red, white and pink. Primary colors. A mix of them all?”

“This is the best I've seen so far. It looks so pretty in the jar,” another TikToker commented with the addition of two heart-shaped emojis.

“It’s not a want, it’s a NEED,” wrote another user.

Many on the app took the opportunity to tag their friends and hope to make their own.

“You could do this for a Valentine's Day party. You could do this for friends [or] you can just keep it at home and have a snack,” Pickard said.
