Showtime Sports gave the green light to , a five-part documentary series narrated and produced by Trevor Noah of Gotham Chopra’s Religion of Sports, Day Zero Productions and Mainstay Entertainment. The first episode of the series will premiere on December 1st at 8pm on Showtime, with episodes debuting weekly for five weeks. The entire series will be available for streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on premiere day.

The five-part series focuses on a different country in each episode – Brazil, USA, UK, France and Qatar – and how that country’s football teams and fans tackle global issues through sport. The series addresses women’s rights, income inequality, labor rights, mental health, racism, nationalism and LGBTQ+ rights.

The series is produced by Gotham Chopra’s Religion of Sports in association with Day Zero Productions and Mainstay Entertainment.

“This may be the most important project we have ever produced,” said Chopra. “Not only because we collaborated with Trevor Noah and a team of brilliant creatives, but also because this show is a brand for us. Sport – and in this case specifically football – is a language through which we can explore some of the most critical issues of our time. That’s what we do at the Religion of Sport. Plus – in case you missed it – we started working with Trevor Noah!!
