Following the suggestion of Senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF), the Committee on Public Security (CSP) will this year evaluate the conduct of the Executive Branch of the National Policy on the Search for Missing Persons. The initiative, created in 2019 and coordinated by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, involves guardianship councils, the Ministry of Public Affairs, defenders' offices, social welfare and public security bodies. Damares pointed out that the National Register of Missing Persons has recorded an average of 199 missing persons per day over the past four years.
