The value from the sale of the Egyptian may exceed the transfer of Neymar to PSG
Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia is preparing an astronomical offer for Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah. The information comes from “The Athletic”, which also revealed the value of the Egyptian's possible proposal: 235 million euros (approximately R$ 1.25 billion at current prices).
These values would make Salah the most expensive player in football history, surpassing Neymar's transfer to PSG in 2017. The Brazilian cost the French club 222 million euros.
This is not the first time Salah has been targeted by a Saudi club. In September 2023, the striker would receive an offer of EUR 100 million from the same Al-Ittihad, which was rejected by Liverpool.
At Al-Ittihad, Salah worked with other world football stars who had recently moved to Saudi Arabia, such as Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté, as well as Brazilian Fabinho. Goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe (former Grêmio player), defender Luiz Felipe (former Lazio player) and striker Romarinho (former Corinthians player) could also join the Egyptian star if the transfer goes through.
Salah has been playing for Liverpool since the 2017-2018 season. Since then, he has played 332 matches and scored 204 goals. This season, the star played in 27 matches and scored 18 times. The striker is currently undergoing rehabilitation after an injury he suffered while playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
