Taylor Swift fans are not happy with the price it costs to rent her concert film.

The 34-year-old Wildest Dreams star was named a billionaire this year, and his Eras Tour has claimed the title of the most profitable tour in music history, with US tickets costing up to $499 plus fees.

Fans who weren't able to get tickets to the critically acclaimed tour were able to see it in cinemas, with prices for the three-hour film costing up to £19.89, a nod to their 1989 album.

The Taylor's Eras Concert film is now available to rent – not to stream or buy, just to rent for 48 hours – with a US price of $19.89, or £15.99 in the UK.

It comes with three bonus songs not seen in the film version: Wildest Dreams, The Archer and Long Live.

While many Swifties jumped at the chance to watch Taylor perform in their living rooms, others were seriously impressed by the price and the fact that you can't buy it – and if you want to watch it again after 48 hours, you have to pay the same price to rent it again.

Twitter, aka X, user Mia, whose account is all about Taylor Swift, took to the site to apologize to Taylor, writing: '£15 to rent the Eras Tour. I'm sorry I can't pay. I love you so much, Taylor.

User Samantha took a different angle, slamming the star by writing, “Taylor Swift is celebrating her birthday by asking her fans to pay TWENTY dollars to RENT her tour movie of the era. Girl, you are a billionaire, wtf! $20 to own it, but rent it? I paid this to watch it at the theater!

Some accused Taylor of being “money hungry,” while others stated that they would “refuse” to rent the film at that price, calling it “ridiculous” and “insane.”

Riley called it 'insanity' to 'pay $20 to RENT the movie back then', while Morg said people would pirate the movie 'because she got $20 to RENT A MOVIE!!! I'm sorry, this is crazy for a billionaire who supposedly loves her fans.

And Meagan complained about the price “when we paid $1,200 for two tickets” to see Taylor herself in concert.

Taylor was named a billionaire in October this year, with her net worth reaching astronomical levels thanks, in part, to her hugely successful Eras Tour.

As reported by BloombergTaylor is now worth $1.1 billion (£905 million), joining the likes of Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian in the billionaire club.

According to Bloomberg analysis, $400 million (£329 million) of Taylor's net worth comes from music she has released since 2019, $370 million (£305 million) comes from ticket and merchandise sales, and $ 120 million (£99 million) comes from earnings from Spotify and YouTube. .

Taylor has previously been involved in negotiations with streaming platforms like Spotify over how her music is monetized, which has also been monumental in the industry.

She has also added to her discography in recent years, releasing re-recorded versions of her earlier work in Taylor's quest to own her masters.

So far, she has released 'Taylor's Summers' of Fearless (2008), Red (2012), Speak Now (2010), and 1989 (2014).
