The Social Security System (SSS) will eliminate unclaimed Unified Multipurpose Identification (UMID) cards after December 29, 2023. The SSS stated that the UMID cards covered by the deadline were those requested between August 2017 and December 2020 .After December 2020. As of September 29, unclaimed cards, including those returned by the Philippine Postal Corp. to the SSS after two failed delivery attempts, they will be discarded. UMID is a four-in-one card that can be used for transactions with SSS, Government Services Insurance System, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig Fund. —Ian Nicolas P. Cigaral
