Left-back Souza was absent for Santos. After all, this Monday (12), he underwent tests that showed an injury to the posterior muscle of the left thigh. Therefore, the 17-year-old will not play in the classic match against São Paulo, which will take place next Wednesday (14/01) in Morumbis at 7:30 p.m.

Santos did not say how long Souza would be sidelined. Interestingly, the club signed him up for the Campeonato Paulista last Tuesday (6) to compensate for the absence of Kevyson, who also suffered an injury and is expected to miss a large part of the season. Thus, the player made his debut in a 2-2 draw with Mirassol.

In addition to Souza, midfielder Giuliano is also sidelined, also due to a left thigh muscle injury. Cazares, who replaced Giuliano, suffered a muscle injury in the victory over Corinthians and did not play in the last match against Mirassol.

On the other hand, coach Fábio Carille must count on the return of left back Felipe Jonatan and striker Julio Furch, who are recovering from injuries. Midfielder João Schmidt and midfielder Otero should return after being spared in the opening minutes of Sunday's match.

With 16 points, Santos leads after seven rounds of Group A of the Campeonato Paulista. Then comes Ituano with just 7 points. Thus, Peixe has everything to advance to the state quarterfinals.
