MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said on Wednesday that he has not yet received the confirmation of Senator Francis Tolentino following reports of the latter's resignation as chairman of the chamber's blue ribbon committee.

“Not yet… he's not here. He's abroad,” Zubiri told reporters after being asked if he had already received Tolentino's resignation letter.

Asked who would replace Tolentino, Villanueva replied: “That is the body’s decision. I can’t make any decisions.”

INQUIRER.net sought confirmation from Tolentino on the matter, but he had not yet responded at the time of posting.

The chairmanship of the blue ribbon committee was previously challenged by Senator Tolentino and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. Tolentino officially took command of the committee in 2022.
