LUCENA CITY – Authorities in Batangas province launched a search and rescue operation for two brothers who went missing on Monday afternoon after their fishing boat capsized in the waters off Tingloy City.

The Batangas police, in a report on Tuesday, February 13, said Wilbert Binay, 43, and his younger brother, Edgar Glenn, 42, both residents of Barangay San Juan in Tingloy, went fishing.
3:45 pm on board the motorized boat “Velocity”.

Police, citing information from their family members, said the brothers made a distress call via cellphone at around 5 p.m. and reported that their boat capsized near the barangay.

After the call, efforts to contact them were futile. Police immediately informed the local Philippine Coast Guard station about the incident.

The PCG in Batangas, local police and other fishermen joined the massive search operation to find the missing fishermen.
