MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded 113 aftershocks as of 1pm on Tuesday following an earthquake in Davao Occidental.

Of the total, only six were felt on the ground, ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 4.9, according to Phivolcs.

The 6.8 magnitude tectonic earthquake occurred 30 kilometers southwest of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, on Friday afternoon and had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.

Phivolcs initially classified the earthquake at magnitude 7.2.

The Department of Health said on Tuesday that 11 people had died from the quake.
