MANILA, Philippines – Meralco ended a series of frustrations by finally clinching the PBA 3×3 title on Tuesday at the Ayala Malls Glorietta.

Behind an even score, the Bolts defeated guest team MCFASolver, 15-13, to capture the Season 3 Third Conference opener, their first championship in nearly a season.

The last time coach Patrick Fran's team won was in the third leg of the First Conference of the 2nd Season.

This time, Alfred Batino and Jeff Manday ensured the title would not escape the Bolts' grasp as they finished with five points each to take the team ahead of Tech Centrale.

Trailing 4-5 early in the Final Leg, Meralco went on a 9-3 run to take a five-point lead, which it never relinquished on the way to the P100,000 purse.

Last conference scoring champion Brandon Ramirez finished with six points to lead MCFASolver, who earned P50,000 for finishing as runner-up.

The two teams set up an unlikely final clash after defeating their respective opponents in the semi-finals.

Tech Centrale escaped Cavitex Braves, 20-19, while the Bolts defeated Purefoods TJ Titans, 21-13.

The Braves later consoled themselves by placing third after defeating the Titans 21-18. They took home the cash prize worth P30,000.

Cavitex previously eliminated Grand Slam-chasing and short-handed TNT 19-17 in the quarterfinals.
