MANILA, Philippines – Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected across the country on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday afternoon.

Pagasa meteorological expert Veronica Torres, however, said that due to the effects of the ridge of the high pressure area, the chances of rain are lower in the eastern part of Luzon.

“We hope that here in Cagayan Valley the chance of rain will be less,” Torres said.

Likewise, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are forecast to prevail over Visayas and Mindanao, along with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.

No storms or low pressure areas are being monitored in and around the Philippines' area of ​​responsibility.

No gale warning is in effect for any of the country's waters.
