CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) on February 10 and 11 confiscated more than P100 million worth of shabu and marijuana and arrested 652 suspects of various crimes in the region.

Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, PRO-7 spokesperson, said they confiscated 14,796.46 grams of shabu and 60 grams of marijuana worth a total of P110,623,128.

Due to the quantity of illicit drugs seized, Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, director of PRO-7, ordered a further investigation into their suppliers and where they will be distributed.

Police were able to recover the shabu packed in Chinese tea bags, where PRO-7 officials said it came from Luzon.

Pelare said these 10 kilos of suspected shabu were linked to the same supplier as the 10 kilos of shabu that were also confiscated from a condominium in Cebu City in December 2023.

“While we recognize that there are still challenges with shabu here in Central Visayas, our commitment under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin is to conduct operations and arrest these people so that eventually the supply reaching Central Visayas will be reduced” , said Pelare.
