Afrobeats singer, Kabba Sesay aka APRiilL has praised the contributions of Nigerian artists to the growth of music on the African continent.

In an interview with , he said: “With the emergence of artists like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Rema, to name a few, I believe that African music is currently having a global impact. Nowadays, there are many artists in the Western world who are 'embracing' our most successful songs.”

The singer, who is signed to a Sierra Leonean record label, Law Music Records, stated that he would release an Extended Play album titled Fans of Afrobeats.

Asked about the highlights of his career, the singer said that having collaborated with an American hip-hop group, Stetsasonic, was something he won't soon forget.

The singer also stated that he intended to expand his musical perspectives and establish connections across the African music scene by working with some Nigerian artists.

He said: “Just traveling to different parts of Africa, I fell in love with music. But it seemed like they were 'hiding' the song, and I decided to help them promote the song, because it's so beautiful.

“After spending some time in the industry, I also realized that it is really difficult to make it big in the industry, even if you are as talented as any other big artist around the world.

“The chance of being seen is small; except one signed a record deal. However, social media can also help artists get discovered and featured.”
