Heather Rae El Moussa tagged Selling Sunset 'toxic' after she was cut from the show.

The Netflix series first hit screens in 2019 and follows a group of agents working at the Oppenheim Group, a high-end real estate brokerage in Los Angeles.

Appearing in the first six seasons, Heather was followed on camera in her personal and professional life alongside others including Mary Fitzgerald, Chrishell Stause, and Amanza Smith.

Although she appeared in parts of the most recent seventh season, Heather went on maternity leave before sharing last year that she had not been contacted about returning to the show.

'It's been a little frustrating. Then [I’m] I’m not sure what’s going on,” she said.

Late last year, she seemingly confirmed her departure by sharing a social media post paying tribute to co-star and close friend Bre Tiesi, writing that although they were no longer “on the same show together,” their friendship was “stronger than that never'.

A few months later, she now takes aim at the program and some of her former colleagues.

In an interview on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast this week, the 36-year-old was joined by her husband Tarek El Moussa, with whom she produces and stars in the show The Flipping El Moussas.

“It was a blessing that I wasn’t asked back because I’m so much happier filming my show with Tarek,” she said.

'We are co-producers of our show, so we choose the times. With Selling Sunset, I never knew when I was going to shoot it.

'It was last minute, it took over my life, it was difficult to do my real job – real estate. It was difficult to do anything else.

Heather then said that she often came home crying after working on the show 12 to 14 hours a day.

'It was crazy. They just want more and more and more and you saw me on the show,” she recalled.

As fans of the show know, things can sometimes get tense between the agents, with Heather saying she did her best to stay out of the drama.

'I've pretty much been sensible almost all the time. I was kind of friends with everyone and kept things pretty calm in my life,” she explained, adding that the show was “very toxic.”

'You're around a lot of women [who all want] be stars on the show, you know, number one. And they will do anything.

Heather gave birth to her son Tristan in January last year and is also stepmother to Tarek's children Taylor, 13, and Brayden, eight, who he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.

Last year, she told People that taking a break from filming when she became a mother eliminated some unnecessary drama from her life.

“I love being able to prioritize my family and my happiness and step away from some of the drama that Selling Sunset brought into my life,” she said.

“There were a lot of things that happened that I chose not to talk about, but overall, I'm very happy with the way my life is.”

She later said it was “bittersweet” to no longer be a part of the show, although Heather still appears to be working for the Oppenheim Group.
