MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday released the list of roads that will be affected by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 24-hour road repair.

According to MMDA Acting President Don Artes, the agency only allowed DPWH road work from April 5 until April 10 or 11, depending on whether April 10 is declared a holiday.

The following areas will be affected by DPWH's 24-hour road works:

  1. Tandang Sora Avenue Quezon City (from Commonwealth Avenue going to C-5)
  2. Bonny Serrano Avenue Quezon City (corners of 15th Ave. and 20th Ave.)
  3. EDSA Northbound Mandaluyong (Apo Street to Pioneer St., outermost lane; next to sidewalk)
  4. EDSA Southbound Mandaluyong (after Gate 4 to EDSA Sanctuary)
  5. Roxas Boulevard northbound Pasay (between Lourdes St. and Vicente Sotto St.)
  6. Roxas Boulevard northbound Manila (between Remedios St. and Pasaje del Carmen St.)
  7. Roxas Boulevard EDSA Flyover Southbound Pasay (bridge approach, outer and inner lane)
  8. IBP – San Mateo Road Quezon City (in front of Robinson Easymart to Jollibee, 1st lane from downtown)
  9. Luzon Avenue southbound from Quezon City (Extension from Congressional Avenue to before the Luzon flyover, first downtown lane)
  10. Mindanao Avenue northbound from Quezon City (Uno Fuel to Chinabank, truck lane)
  11. Payatas Road Quezon City bound for Batasan Road (before Maynilad pumping station at G3 Center, outer lane)
  12. Payatas Road Quezon City bound for Batasan Road (Batasan Rd. to Bayanihan St. / Samar St. to Leyte St., outside lane)
  13. Avenida G. Araneta Quezon City (Wayan St. to Mauban St., 1st lane of sidewalk)
  14. Payatas Road Quezon City (Fifth St. to Samar St., inner lane)

“We will only allow the DPWH to carry out road repairs 24 hours a day, which they are committed to completing on time and implementing properly in the same way they implemented them during last Holy Week's road repairs,” Artes explained in a press conference at Pasig City.

In the same press conference, the MMDA chief, together with the DPWH, also announced several road rehabilitation projects throughout Metro Manila, including the renovation of the southbound Edsa-Kamuning Viaduct permanent bridges from April 25.

The project, divided into four phases, would last around 11 months.

DPWH-National Capital Region project inspector Paul Chua noted, however, that the flyover would still be passable during the modernization project.
