Deadline confirmed that actress Melissa Barrera has been dropped from Spyglass Media Scream VII.
Sources say this is due to reposts on her Instagram Stories that were deemed anti-sematic.
There were screenshots of her IG Stories online. See below.
Spyglass Media did not return a request for comment.
While there hasn’t been any casting announced regarding the film’s actors’ strike, and Christopher Landon is reportedly directing the next film, we heard that Barrera was set to reprise her role as Sam Carpenter, sister to Jenna Ortega’s Tara Carpenter.
Paramount was the theatrical distributor of the last two Shout out films, the latter being the highest-grossing film of all time in the United States with over $108 million and an overall global gross of $169 million.
