MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. The invoicing ceremony of P776 million worth of excavators acquired by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) was held on Wednesday.

The rotation ceremony was held at the Subic Freeport Zone in Olongapo City, Zambales.

“The country’s irrigation system will further improve after the NIA acquires these 141 quality excavators,” the Presidential Communications Office said in Filipino in a Facebook post.

During the turnover, Marcos urged the NIA to maximize the use of the equipment, particularly to help farmers increase their income.

This is timely as the country is expected to experience a strong El Niño phenomenon next year, he said.
