ITV's Lorraine was plunged into giggling chaos on Tuesday after a guest accidentally called presenter Ranvir Singh by something other than her name.
Ranvir replaced regular host Lorraine Kelly this week, and after Monday's episode saw her criticized for laughing at the idea of people still using libraries, Tuesday's show was unforgettable in an entirely different way.
The host was speaking with famous physician Dr. Amir Khan on the live show as he discussed new research that indicates that men who take Viagra regularly may have better memory than those who don't.
Viagra is a prescription medication to treat erectile dysfunction, but in Dr. Amir's mind it could also be the name of the woman sitting in the presentation chair.
Because, in a serious mistake, he started addressing Ranvir but instead called her 'Viagra'.
The pair burst into laughter upon realizing what Dr. Amir said, as he apologized profusely and labeled the act a “Freudian slip.”
Viewers loved the mistake, heading to X, where user @MTF73 said it had 'made my morning'.
Ranvir and Dr. Amir went on to complete the segment, but this was clearly on Dr. Amir's mind, as later in the show Ranvir revealed that he had just received a message from the celebrity doctor.
Reading it aloud on air, Dr. Amir wrote, “I’m sorry I called you Viagra.”
“Apology accepted,” Ranvir announced, before cheekily adding: “I’ve been called worse.”
The hilarious slip-up comes after Ranvir was criticized by viewers for apparently laughing at people who still use libraries.
Former The Wanted musician Jay McGuiness appeared on the show to discuss his new book, Blood Flowers, and revealed he worked hours every day at the library to write it.
To which Ranvir laughed: 'The library! You are an old school soul. Who still goes to the library?
Well, it turns out a lot of people do – and they haven't forgiven, turning to X to share their annoyance, calling it a 'shame' that she spoke so 'dismissively' about free community spaces.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITVX.
