MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Corrections (BuCor) said on Tuesday that a person deprived of liberty (PDL) was rearrested 25 years after escaping from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF).
According to BuCor, the fugitive, identified as Pedrino G. Nunez, was arrested in Sablayan, East Mindoro, on Friday.

BuCor added that Nuñez lived in the area where he was arrested.
Nuñez was admitted to the IPPF for murder in October 1997 and later escaped in April 1999, the agency added.
“As I said before, if you run away, we will find you wherever you are hiding and return you to the penitentiary center and this is the proof,” said BuCor director general Gregorio Catapang Jr.
