ICAN Exam: First Class LASU Graduate Emerges as Top Qualified Student

In what is yet another victory for the Lagos State University, a recent graduate of the institution, Marcus Oreoluwa Akinmade, has emerged as the best overall qualified candidate in Nigeria in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) May 2023 Diet Examination ).

The graduate of the Accounting Department of the University's Faculty of Management Sciences aced all five (5) exams at once, obtaining the highest overall average among all candidates who took the professional exams.

It is no wonder that Akinmade was the star of the Institute's recently concluded 72nd Induction Ceremony held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, as he received three awards for his unusual feat.

The awards included the ICAN Merit Award for 1st General Professional Level, the Akintola Williams Deloitte and Touche Award for Best Diet Qualified Candidate and the Comfort Olujumoke Eyitayo Award for Best Diet Qualified Male Candidate. The awards were presented by ICAN President, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa, FCA.

Akinmade graduated from Lagos State University with first class honors at a CGPA of 4.76 in the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

The Vice-Rector, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulates Oreoluwa and notes that the University is proud of his achievement.
