HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Veterans who want to start or build their own businesses can get help through a program called Biz2Empower.

Tiko Hausman helps run the program and said it offers hands-on experience in networking, financing and business strategy.

Veteran and small business owner Quami Bingham also said this gives former military personnel the skills they need to successfully enter the workforce.

“Coming out of the military, you discover that while there are opportunities for veterans, there are some stigmas that the public may not understand about working with people who served,” Bingham said. “Since leaving the program, I’ve gotten a contract with a few East Texas schools and built relationships with vendors.”

Anyone interested in signing up for Biz2Empower can sign up next week here.
