EXCLUSIVE: Gato Grande, an Amazon MGM Studios company, has acquired the rights to the bestselling novel by Ana Reyes The House in the Pines, for the development of television.
The psychological thriller revolves around a woman who, armed only with hazy memories, long ago witnessed the sudden death of her friend and has since spent her life trying to forget, and sets out to find answers. What she discovers, deep in the forest, is hard to believe.
The house in the pines It was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than two months and was a Reese’s Book Club pick when it was published in January 2023. Forbes named it one of the five best-selling fiction titles of the first half of 2023.
The house in the pines is Reyes’ debut novel. She has a master’s degree from Louisiana State University and teaches creative writing.
