The Blues are now just six points away from the danger zone

Chelsea's woes in the Premier League this season continue, with the Blues losing 0-2 away to Everton in their last 16 clash. The London team is now just six points away from relegation, having collected 4 points in the last five games.

Chelsea started well and naturally had the first dangerous opportunity in front of Jordan Pickford in the 14th minute when Cole Palmer found space to shoot into the top right corner, but the Everton goalkeeper made a phenomenal save.

In the 54th minute, McNeill started a counter-attack for Everton and sent Dominic Calvert-Lewin behind the Chelsea defense. The Toffees striker shot from a free position, but straight at Sanchez's body. Abdoulaye Doukoure was in the right place and sent the ball into the bottom right corner to give his team the lead.

In the second minute of stoppage time after a corner kick from James Garner, Djorje Petrovic failed to square the ball in the best possible way and Lewis Dobbin struck on the edge of the box to score his team's second goal.

This success saw Everton move away from the relegation zone with 13 points, despite having lost 10 at the start of the season. It was Everton's sixth win in eight games, including three points gained against West Ham, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Chelsea, on the other hand, fell to 11th place in the standings with 19 points.
