Coming off the triumphs of Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his third release in 2023, Bury, in partnership with director Rajkumar Hirani. Known for iconic films like the Munnabhai series, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju, Hirani's first collaboration with SRK is scheduled for an Indian theatrical release on December 22, preceded by a US release on December 21.

Initial advance ticket sales for Dunki in the US have faced challenges, however, following the recent trailer release and the release of a new song, there has been a significant increase, pushing the film past the $100,000 mark. Currently, Dunki is selling tickets at approximately 404. locations, for 1,131 shows and has already sold around 8,510 tickets, taking the film's gross to $116,674 (Rs 97 Lakhs). With less than 10 days to go, tickets will hopefully be sold more frequently.
Initially planned as a solo release, Dunki faces competition such as Prasanth Neel and Prabhas scheduled the release of Salaar: Part One – Ceasefire on the same day. Post-production problems led to the delay of Lettuce from the original date of September 28th. With the advance booking of both the films starting in the next few days, it would be interesting to see how the audience is reacting to the two films.
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal Salaar features Prithviraj, Tinnu Anand and Boman Irani in the lead roles Shruti Haasan alongside Prabhas.
