A Disney on Ice skater is recovering after a fall during a performance Saturday in Minneapolis.
Skater Anastasia Olson, who plays Belle, remains hospitalized in serious condition, a hospital spokesperson told Deadline on Monday. She was injured while performing a lift during Saturday morning's performance at Target Center.
“They were lifting it, it looked unstable and she fell,” said audience member Beka. DOG 11 in Minneapolis. The show went on and Beka added: “I’m so grateful and thankful for the rest of the team and the performers who continued because it preserves the magic for the kids. I know it must have been very difficult.”
Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Disney on Ice, released a statement over the weekend to Fox 9, saying Olson was injured during the 11 a.m. show on Saturday after falling while performing a lift during a pair skating routine. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was initially listed in critical but stable condition. She has since been upgraded to serious condition.
Another audience member told KARE 11 that the team quickly arrived at Olson. Disney on Ice's parent company, Feld Entertainment, told the outlet in a statement that it “appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team member recovers.”
The show took place from February 9th to 11th.
