Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is having a record-breaking rookie season, which wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't taken the advice of the person closest to him.
During a recent appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Aubrey admitted that the decision to switch careers from professional football to professional soccer was actually his wife's idea – which, in hindsight, was obviously the right one.
“My wife, we sat there and watched football like every Sunday.” Aubrey stated. “She mentioned to me in passing, 'I think you could do this.' Being a professional athlete, I thought she was crazy. At that point I just got the ball, went out there and just tried to see if I could do it.
Aubrey transitioned to American Football in 2022 after his playing career failed. Aubrey, who was selected by Toronto FC in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft in 2017, played in the United Soccer League for a year before opting out.
