Colin Jost made a kind gesture to Dana and Paula Carvey following the news of their son Dex’s death.

The Carveys released a statement on November 16 informing the public of the tragic news regarding their son’s death at age 32.

“Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old,” Dana and Paula said in the statement. “Dex has accumulated a lot in these 32 years. He was extremely talented at many things – music, art, film, comedy – and pursued them all with passion.”

Dana would later announce that she was taking time off from social media to process her son’s death.

“I will be taking a break from work and social media to find out what life is like now that we are a family of three. Let’s heal and carry on as best we can. Our dear Dex would have wanted it that way,” Dana said in the statement released on social media.
