Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences on the passing of veteran labor leader and former President of the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC Ali Chiroma.

The former president said the deceased left notable contributions to the economy and labor movement far beyond the country's borders.

“Ali Chiroma was indomitable. Full of life, insightful and fearless as a leader. He makes a notable contribution to the labor movement and to my political career as an ardent supporter who supported me before and during my years in office.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family, the government and the people of Borno State. May Allah give them the courage to bear the loss.”

Meanwhile, Comrade Ali Chiroma was buried in Maiduguri on Wednesday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
