Botafogo continues its transition process for 2024, with striker Luís Henrique likely to leave the club. The striker is on loan to Olympique de Marseille (FRA) until the end of the year, but Alvinegro will not use the buyout option. This way he will return to France, but the OM can still negotiate in this window.

The Rio team could keep the player permanently, but would have to pay EUR 8 million (R$42.7 million). According to “ge”, Botafogo asked the French to negotiate a lower price, but Olympique did not agree. Therefore, the black and white management did not want to submit a proposal and announced that it would not continue cooperation with Luís Henrique in 2024.

Revealed by Botafogo in 2020, Luís Henrique was sold to Olympique Marseille in 2020 for €12 million (then R$77.8 million). However, Glorioso received only 40% of the value, because Três Passos Atlético Clube from Rio Grande do Sul also held part of the property rights.

In the middle of last year, the striker returned to the club that revealed him on loan. During this time, Botafogo beat off competition from rivals Flamengo, who were also interested in signing the contract. During this second period, he made 69 appearances, scoring six goals and four assists.
