music composer Shreyas Puraniwho composed the songSatranga'starrer Ranbir Kapoor'Animal', shared that the song was supposed to be part of another project, but ended up being used in 'Animal'.
Shreyas, who started his career 15 years ago as a singer, also shared the journey of music and his experience working with Arijit Singh It is Sandeep Reddy Wanga.
In a candid conversation on ShareChat's LIVE audio chat room, he said, “'Satranga' was made in September last year for another project but could not be used there. After 10 to 15 days, I participated in a Diwali party and Siddharth-Garima (the lyricist of the song) was a good friend of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, so he was also present. We were singing the song and suddenly it caught Sandeep's attention.”

Karan Johar tags 'Animal' director Sandeep Reddy Vanga as he talks gender politics; he says 'You don't want to make these mistakes…'

He further mentioned, “It was just a week later that I got a call from his office and they told me that Sandeep wanted to use the song in his next film. It was a happy moment for me. We created around 18 versions of this song with different music, but from day one, Mr. Vanga wanted the original raw version that was used in the film.”

He shared how grateful he was to work with him, even though Shreyas did not meet Arijit during the recording of the song. He said, “Both Sandeep and I agreed that there was only one voice roaming around in our heads: Arijit's.”

He also expressed his opinion on nepotism in the music industry by saying, “Nepotism is just an excuse for weak people who think they won't achieve anything because the other person is more privileged. I've said this many times that if my father is owner of a factory and I am not doing anything else, I will focus on expanding his business. You can see actors and singers like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Arijit Singh who are personalities who have created themselves. When it comes to real talent and Lucky, nothing can stop you from reaching heights.”
