The Chairman of Abuja Newspaper Distributors Association, John Emmanuel, was abducted by bandits in a “once-in-a-lifetime” vehicle in the Giri area of ​​the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday night.

Our correspondent gathered that Emmanuel was kidnapped on Giri Highway at around 8pm on Tuesday while he was returning home.

The wife of the victim, Mrs. Uche Emmanuel, on Wednesday, in an interview, confirmed the abduction of her husband, while noting that his abductors contacted the family demanding ₦15 million ransom for his freedom.

She said, “Yes, my husband was kidnapped from Giri yesterday at around 8 pm. He was in a public taxi heading home, unfortunately the vehicle was a once in a lifetime opportunity and they are demanding ₦15 million before releasing him.”

However, the FCT Police Command reported that the incident has not yet been reported to the police for intervention.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said: “There is no such incident reported in any of our police stations as of now. Perhaps the family has not yet contacted or reported it to us (the police); We cannot know what is not reported to us.”
