10,816 aspiring lawyers gear up for 2023 Bar exam


A total of 10,816 examinees are about to take the 2023 Bar examinations, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines announced on Friday.

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 10,816 examinees are about to take the 2023 Bar examinations, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines announced on Friday.

Among these examinees, SC reported that 5,832 are first-time Bar takers, while 4,984 are retakers.

To ensure its smooth execution, SC shared that about 2,571 court personnel and lawyers will be deployed in its 14 Local Testing Centers (LTCs) including the local testing headquarters.

The National Headquarters is the San Beda College – Alabang in Muntinlupa City.

According to the SC, the following are the LTCs for the Bar Exams:

National Capital Region

  • San Beda University – Manila
  • University of Sto. Tomas
  • San Beda College – Alabang
  • University of the Philippines – Diliman
  • Manila Adventist College
  • University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City

Luzon

  • Saint Louis University
  • Cagayan State University
  • University of Nueva Caceres

Visayas

  • University of San Jose – Recoletos
  • University of San Carlos
  • Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation

Mindanao

  • Ateneo de Davao University
  • Xavier University

The Bar examinees were given the option to choose their preferred testing center.

Meanwhile, this Bar’s Chairperson, SC Associate Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando, said that the SC has been closely monitoring the Bar applicants’ response to their announcements regarding the exam.

“We connect with the Bar takers through the hard work that we share. To be with our baristas is our way of giving them a feeling of enlightenment, comfort, a boost of confidence, and a push to proceed and succeed,” he stated.

This year’s Bar Examinations will be on September 17, 20, and 24.
